(AP) — A Denver federal judge has dismissed a claim by a former
MillerCoors employee who was fired after testing positive for medical
marijuana he was taking for illness.
said MillerCoors violated Colorado’s employment discrimination
statutes. The brewer fired Curry, who has hepatitis C and
osteoarthritis, for violating its drug-free workplace policy.
Anyone who ate chopped, ready-to-eat fruit from the Westside Market
at 2589 Broadway between 97th and 98th Streets from Aug. 9th to Aug.
22nd may be at risk.
The Westside Market told health department officials that they sell
around 100 of the fruit containers daily. Anyone who ate the fruit

Over a third of
HIV-positive people with hepatitis C virus-related liver cirrhosis are
not having regular ultrasound examinations to check for possible liver cancer,
Canadian research published in Clinical
Infectious Diseases shows.
Two patients diagnosed with hepatocellular
carcinoma (HCC, liver cancer) did not have ultrasound screens.
Patients with chronic hepatitis C, particularly those with anemia,
experienced significantly impaired mental and physical health and
worsened fatigue symptoms while on antiviral therapy, with improvement
coming at treatment completion in a recent study.
Researchers evaluated health-related quality of life (HRQL) and
fatigue symptoms in 59 patients with HCV/HIV coinfection before, during
and after therapy with pegylated interferon and ribavirin. Physical and
mental health was measured via the Short Form (36) Health Survey;
fatigue was assessed by the Fatigue Severity Scale.
