PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. The Pueblo County Board of Health approved a new needle exchange program, Wednesday.
Over the past few years, Pueblo County has seen
an increase in needle users. Research shows that these programs can
reduce the number of diseases among users. It will help prevent
communicable diseases like hepatitis B and C, and HIV.
The program will include several drop off locations within in the
county, and a mobile location that will travel to where users are. At
these locations, users can exchange their needles with clean ones. The
drop off spots will be selected over the next month.
