Around 70,000 people in Colorado have hepatitis C, and 90 percent of them go untreated.
All Carleen McGuffey knew was that she felt sick. Her joints ached, and her heart wouldn’t stop racing.
Then she learned she had a disease that had been preying on her liver for 25 years. The mother of six was diagnosed with hepatitis C in 2010.
“My heart would race when I walked across the room, like I’d run a marathon,” said McGuffey, who is now cured.
