STEELTON, Pa. (WHTM) -The Pennsylvania Department of Health is offering
testing information and a toll-free hotline to help all former and
current patients of a Steelton doctor who had her medical license
Dr. Maryjo E. Szada, a family physician
with an office on S. Front Street, had her medical license temporarily
suspended on April 9 and indefinitely suspended on April 22, after an
investigation by state officials.
In response to the suspension,
the Department of Health is recommending that current of former female
patients, seen by Dr. Szada between 1994 and 2014 and had a procedure
involving a speculum, to get testing for chlamydia, gonorrhea, hepatitis
B, hepatitis C and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Procedures
involving a speculum include: routine women’s health check-ups, pap
smears and STD testing.
